Plans to stop the mischief-makers

THE next meeting of the Monk Bretton, Royston and St Helen's Area Forum will be held at Athersley North Primary School, Lindhurst Road, Barnsley, at 6.30pm on Thursday, October 11.

Youth workers will talk about activities in the area and officers from the Safer Neighbour hood Team will give an update on Operation Mischief which will run throughout October until Bonfire Night.

Tree fire tackled

FIRE crews tackled two blazes in the open at different locations around Sheffield. Firefighters from Low Edges attended a tree fire in Norton Lane, Norton, and just two hours later a crew from Mansfield Road tackled a fire in Daresbury Close, Arbourthorne.

Skip blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze in a skip on Earl Marshal Road, Grimesthorpe, Sheffield. The crew from Elm Lane spent around 10 minutes bringing the fire under control.
