Paws for thought as Helen stages purr-fect art exhibition

ARTIST Helen Clark thinks cats are just purr-fect... now she's staging an exhibition to help them.

Helen, from Dronfield, will host the Cats Whiskers exhibition - more than 75 paintings and prints of ferocious and furry felines - in aid of the charity Wizz Catz Rescue.

She said: "It's a small cat charity based in Sheffield. The volunteers keep the cats in their own homes, not in pens, so you can imagine how much love, dedication and cost is put into caring for as many as 15 cats in one home at a time."

The exhibition will be held at Helen's gallery studio at Caudwell's Mill in Rowsley, where she has worked for eight years.

"A lot of the larger animal charities are very well known now but it's down to the smaller ones to try to find ways of keeping afloat," she said.

"I hope the exhibition will raise the profile and dedication of these fantastically generous cat lovers."

It runs from October 27 until November 4.
