'Outstanding' pupils chalk up school rewards
Cabinet member for education Coun Harry Harpham was the special guest at Tinsley Junior School, where over 100 children received awards.
Prizes came in many categories, including high academic achievement, service to the school council and excellent behaviour.

Hide AdThere were also awards for sporting success, including ones for pupils who had completed half marathons.
Headteacher Jude Grundy praised parents and children for their attitude and commitment to their education during the last year.
“This has been a very successful year for the school, with outstanding results in the Key Stage 2 SATs,” she said.
“Out of the 43 children who took the tests, 40 children gained level four or level five in English.

Hide Ad“This is a tremendous achievement for a school where over 90 per cent of children have English as an additional language.
“The results were mirrored in science, and in maths 32 pupils gained level four and five, which is a huge improvement on last year,” she added.
