ROYAL rider Zara Phillips is to attend the annual international horse trial at Chatsworth this weekend.
The Queen’s granddaughter, who announced her engagement earlier this year, is a former eventing world champion.
She is among 500 competitors due to take part in the trials in the grounds of the stately home.
Large crowds are expected at the three-day event, which starts today and finishes on Sunday.
Other top riders lined up to take part include leading equestrian William Fox-Pitt.
There are a number of other attractions planned for the weekend, including performances by world-renowned horse whisperer Jean Francois Pignon, Pony Club mounted games, a dressage display, sheep dogs demonstrations and birds of prey displays.
There will also be maypole dancing, music, Punch and Judy, face painting, a climbing wall and trade stalls.
