ACCLAIMED dance companies will descend on Sheffield for a feast of free performances.

As part of the Cultural Olympiad, project Imove on the Street will see hip hop battles, physical comedy and acrobatics come to different venues in the city.

The programme, featuring performers Ponydance and So & So Circus Theatre, takes place in the Peace Gardens from 11am until 4pm on Saturday and at Meadowhall shopping centre on Sunday. There will also be a special free performance from Ponydance at The Harley pub, Glossop Road at 7pm on Saturday.

Coun Isobel Bowler, of Sheffield Council, said: “We are delighted Sheffield was selected to showcase the best in contemporary performance in public places.”
