A PUB’S bid for an entertainment licence has upset neighbouring residents who fear it will become a ‘rowdy nightspot’.

The Psalter Tavern, Psalter Lane, Nether Edge, is applying to Sheffield Council for permission to host live music, dancing and other entertainment between 10am and 11pm Mondays to Thursdays, 10am to midnight Fridays and Saturdays and 10am to 10.30pm on Sundays.

One objection has been made to the council, whose licensing board will decide on the application on Tuesday.

The resident said: “Turning this traditional pub into a rowdy nightspot will damage property prices and increase noise at late hours.”
