Town hosts a feast of theatre

AN enormous bubble will dwarf buildings in a South Yorkshire town centre.

All Saints’ Square, Rotherham, will host the 36ft-high transparent sphere all day on Saturday.

It is being set up as part of Rotherham Colourscape Festival, presented by Rotherham’s Open Minds Theatre Company.

Its performance, called the Music of the Spheres, will feature a trapeze artist on silks inside the bubble, accompanied by a wandering musician in a smaller 12ft sphere.

Members of the public will be treated to three performances throughout the day at 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm, which are free of charge.

Rotherham Colourscape Festival is supported by The Arts Council, Rotherham Council and Bucknell Whitehouse.
