A TEENAGER wowed an audience in Sheffield when she sang her way to the next stage of a major competition for up-and-coming music acts.

Georgia Odette, aged 14, won a regional final of the Live and Unsigned contest at Sheffield City Hall - and is now in with a chance of winning £10,000 and a slot at London’s O2 Arena.

The young soprano, who appeared on TV talent show Britain’s Got Talent in 2011, sang some self-penned songs - the first time she had performed her own material at an event.

Georgia has built up a strong following on the internet and her YouTube channel has been viewed in 186 countries around the world.

She also sings with the National Children’s Choir, and will tour Venice with them in August.

Georgia, from Manchester, will now go on to the next round of Live and Unsigned in Huddersfield in May.
