Thousands of students packed into Meadowhall hunting for bargains during the centre’s third annual Lock-In event.

Those with the all important student ID were able to snap up hundreds of different discounts and deals.

The mall was also packed with all sorts of entertainment, with live music, buskers, games, fashion workshops and make-overs contributing to the party atmosphere.

Alex Caley, Meadowhall’s event manager, said: “Sheffield is an extremely popular city for students and we love to show new arrivals and familiar faces alike a big Yorkshire welcome. It’s a chance for everyone to socialise and pick up some great bargains too.”
