THE lads from the Woodseats and District Darts League are aiming for a double top as they step up to the oche for a challenge.

They plan to be the fastest team in the country to reach a score of one million in just one marathon session.

And they’re also aiming to earn a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for using the least number of darts in a 12-hour round the board session.

Their three-day session at The Cross Scythes pub in Derbyshire Lane, Norton, will raise money for St Luke’s Hospice. The team’s last record attempt, in 2011, raised more than £6,000 for St Luke’s and this time they hope that’s another record they can beat.

“St Luke’s is such a great charity and one that means a lot to all of us,” said organiser Derek Spencer. “Last time we managed to hit our target in 46 hours, 43 minutes but this time we really want to beat that.”

The session begins on June 14, and reaches its climax on Sunday, June 16.

“We aim to make it a real family weekend” said Derek.
