One of Sheffield’s top music photographers has launched his debut exhibition showcasing the best of his work.
Glenn Ashley has snapped all the big names in rock and pop to play in Sheffield over the past 21 years, including superstars U2, Kings Of Leon, Katy Perry, Kiss and Def Leppard.
The impressive collection of images spans from Glenn’s first paid gig – Bon Jovi at Sheffield Arena for The Star in 1993 – through to one of his most recent jobs, covering rising Sheffield band The Sherlocks in The Rockin Chair.
The 54-year-old, of Norfolk Park, said: “I don’t think of my photos as art, they’re taken to record something, but a few people said I’ve seen so many acts I should put them together. It seemed a good idea.”
The exhibition, which features music legends at city venues such as the Arena and The Leadmill, was launched last night and will be displayed at Eten café, East Parade, Sheffield, for two months.
