A PLAY from one of the world’s most renowned dramatists will have its world premiere in Sheffield.
The Duck Stranglers of Janada, written by John Godber, will be staged at the Crucible theatre on Friday as part of the International Student Drama Festival.
Stage and screen students from Sheffield Hallam University have been involved in the acting and production of the play, which aims to convey the danger of funding cuts.
John, a visiting professor at the university, known mainly for his observational comedies, wrote the four-handed play especially for the festival.
It will feature performances from Hallam students Leah Gray, aged 20, from Scarborough, and 22-year-old Kyle Williams, from Stockport.
The Duck Stranglers starts at 3.45pm. Tickets are £2 on the door.
