Have your say

TRADITIONAL folk music is in store in a Derbyshire village next month when a popular Irish singer pays a special visit.

Frank McCaffrey will be performing at Uppertown Social Centre on September 15, following the success of previous shows at the venue.

Born in Westport, County Mayo, McCaffrey started his first band on leaving school, and turned professional in 1970, touring with a group featuring Daniel O’Donnell’s sister.

The singer turned solo 13 years later, touring extensively over the years throughout Ireland, Europe and America.

He has just released his most recent album, called Ramblin’ Boy.

Tickets for the show are still on sale priced £12 including supper. To book call 01246 590 502 or 07966 154 798.
