AUDIENCES will be taken on a trip down memory lane as a nostalgia-filled show comes to Sheffield.

Musical Dreamboats and Petticoats arrives on Monday, July 16, for a six-day run at The Lyceum.

It promises to transport theatre-goers back to 1961 with hits from rock ‘n’ roll royalty Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury and Chuck Berry.

The cast includes Scott Bruton and Terry Winstanley, finalists from past series of ITV talent show the X Factor.

The story follows young musicians Norman and Bobby as they compete to win a national song-writing competition interwoven with the romantic lives of the characters.

A spokeswoman for Sheffield Theatres said: “Written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart and Birds of a Feather, this spectacular feel-good production takes you back to 1961.”

Tickets for Dreamboats and Petticoats are on sale now from Sheffield Theatres’ box office.
