A NEW exhibition will pay tribute to a late Sheffield artist.

Cranks and Revolutions, a retrospective of work by Paul Warrender, will go on display at The Circle, Rockingham Lane, in the city centre from Monday.

Paul, who died at the age of 63 in 2010, produced graphics on a voluntary basis in support of community organisations in the city. Other work explores his life in Walkley.

The exhibition has been curated by the Cupola Gallery and will be open until March.

Karen Sherwood, Cupola manager, said: “We are delighted to support this second exhibition. Paul was a talented and sensitive artist.

“Themes in his personal work are by turns enigmatic, thought-provoking, funny and full of insight.

“His confident use of line and an inclination towards working in black and white allowed him to use his talents effectively in posters and logos supporting issues and causes he clearly believed in.”
