SHEFFIELD restaurant owner Gian Bohan is preparing to saddle up with sporting legends Lawrence Dallaglio and Andrew Flintoff on a mammoth charity bike ride across Europe.

Gian, who owns Ecclesall Road Italian restaurant Nonnas, will join the stars on the epic tour, which will see him pedal 807 miles throughout the entire length of Italy, from Puglia in the south all the way up to the Alpine border at the northernmost point of the country.

The keen cyclist, who sets off on April 28 on his 10-day tour, is hoping to contribute to the ambitious £2.012 million the event is aiming to raise for three charities - the Dallaglio Foundation, the AF Foundation and Virgin Unite.

Gian said: “I’m honoured to be taking part - those who know me know I’m a huge cycling fanatic, so the chance to get involved with something like this in aid of three amazing causes and alongside two idols of mine, was too good to miss.

“I’ve committed to a personal target of at least £3,000 and the generous response I’ve received so far has been fantastic.”

The international stars’ entire route goes from the Greek city of Olympia to the new Olympic Stadium in London over 22 days.
