MEMBERS of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team will be setting up a display of all the equipment they use on call-outs to help people in trouble in the Peak District.

The display in the Spring Gardens Shopping Centre, Buxton, on Monday, May 2 has been organised to mark national Mountain and Cave Rescue Awareness Day.

Team members will also be on hand to give first-hand accounts of what they do.

Team Leader Neil Carruthers said: “The Bank Holiday is a good chance to reach a wide range of people with information about what we do, how we’re funded and what they can do to support us and to make sure that we’re around to help if they ever need us.”

Mountain rescue teams are made up of volunteers and the organisations are funded entirely by donations.
