THE Red Arrows will be part of a ‘best of British’ line-up for the Chatsworth Country Fair this weekend.

Aerial displays will be given above the heads of the crowds on Saturday and Sunday.

The event starts tomorrow (Friday) and organisers are aiming to tap into the themes of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year and the London Olympics.

The Grand Ring will feature displays by two gun teams from the Musical Drive of the King’s Troop as well as freefall parachutists every day.

The Fine Food Village will feature demonstrations by top chefs including TV favourites James Martin, Lesley Waters, Alan Coxon and Rachel Green, all cooking with produce from across the Midlands, giving tips, launching new products and signing their latest books.

Many of the chefs from top restaurants in the area will be joining the line-up including Simon Bradley from East Lodge Hotel, Max Fischer from Fischers and Rupert Rowley from Rowleys.

Chatsworth’s own Steve Smith will be on stage on Saturday.

Other traditional attractions at England’s biggest country fair include clay pigeon shooting, archery, birds of prey, sheep dog trials, vintage vehicle displays, an old time fairground and hot air balloons. There will be more than 300 trade stands.

Gates open at 9am each day with a closing ceremony at 6.30pm.

Gate prices are £20 for adults, children under 14, free.
