OVER 120 children from a Barnsley primary school called all the shots at the town’s museums on Takeover Day 2012.

Four- to 11-year-olds from Holy Rood RC Primary devised their own activities for the day and visited four of Barnsley’s museum and heritage sites.

At Cannon Hall Museum, the children said they wanted to make some noise, so Qdos Creates helped them to do so with music and dance activities.

At the Cooper Gallery children wanted to create their own exhibition, so with the help of artist Richard Johnson they put together a stunning colourful series of paintings all about themselves.

And in Barnsley Town Hall, children worked with the Wayne Sables Project writing, reading and filming their own works of poetry.
