SECRETS of writing gripping crime stories were being passed on to girls at Sheffield High School today by top author Anne Zouroudi.

Anne was taking part in a creative writing class for more than 100 youngsters at her old school, as part of National Crime Writing Month.

She has had a hugely successful writing career – with five novels published in the last five years – and shares the same agent as Harry Potter creator JK Rowling.

Anne, who now lives in the Peak District, was also shortlisted for the ITV3 Crime Thriller Award for breakthrough authors and was long-listed for the Desmond Elliot Prize for first novels with word of mouth appeal.

Speaking before today’s visit, she said: “I’m keen to go back to my old school and talk about creative writing and, in particular, how to write a gripping crime story.”

The girls involved are currently taking a creative writing module for their GCSEs.
