A star of pop band S Club 7 and an ITV Superstar are joining forces this Christmas at Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre in the title roles of Beauty and the Beast.

This year’s pantomime will also see the return of Funny Man Rik Gaynor as Pierre, and Danny Young as Madame Fifi.

Tina Barrett is the beauty and ITV’s Superstar Jon Moses her beast.

Tina has travelled the world with the band that had hits with Never Had a Dream Come True, Reach and Don’t Stop Movin’ .

S Club 7 first came to public notice in the BBC series Miami 7 which saw the group working in a hotel and entertaining guests with their song and dance routines.

The series was so popular, LA 7, Hollywood 7 and Viva S Club followed, airing in 100 countries.

The programme has since been credited with inspiring a new generation of teenage TV musicals such as High School Musical and Glee.

Paul Holman for pantomime producers Paul Holman Associates said: “Tina trained at the London Arts Educational School for eight years so she brings an amazing vocal talent and the performance skills to bring Beauty to life in an enchanting and magical portrayal of the girl who can set the Beast free.”

Jon Moses came to fame in Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s TV search to find a lead for his Jesus Christ Superstar arena tour.

He sang his way into people’s hearts as his journey from his roots in Northumberland through to Lord Webber’s boot camp and live finals was played out nightly to millions.

After originally being told by Lord Webber that he would be the understudy and would need to learn everyone’s parts and all the songs for the entire series, Webber dramatically changed his mind at the last minute.

He decided Jon’s talents were too strong to be left out.

The charming and charismatic singer went on to impress judges and the public before being eliminated just before the semi-final.

Beauty and the Beast runs from December 6 to January 5.
