MENTAL health patients in South Yorkshire are getting the chance to show off their artistic talents at an exhibition.
The ARTiculate show is running until November 5 in the Art Gallery space in Riverside House, Rotherham, featuring work by local people.
Pieces in the exhibition include paintings by patients at the Swallownest Court and Woodlands mental health units.
Coun Ken Wyatt, from Rotherham Council, said: “Studies have shown that producing art can have a significant beneficial effect on a person’s mental health by reducing anxiety, depression and lowering blood pressure.
“The artists have really benefited from working on their projects.”
The free exhibition is open from 10am to 5pm daily.
