CHRISTMAS may already seem like a distant memory – but the festive spirit lives on at Rotherham Civic Theatre.

The magical pantomime story of Peter Pan continues there until the end of the month for those still in need a seasonal dose.

Daniel Pope, who plays Peter Pan in the Spillers Pantomimes production, said: “We’re so pleased to have so many shows left in Rotherham.

“We’ve celebrated Christmas, so now we want to help the people of Rotherham ring in the New Year in style – oh yes we do.”

More than 20,000 people have already turned out to see the show – a mix of comedy, action and music – and the cast are hoping to welcome many more before the show’s run finishes on Thursday, January 31.

Mario Vernazza, who plays the villainous Captain Hook, said: “It’s not quite goodbye from us just yet, but I would like to say a massive thank you to everybody who has come along and laughed, cheered, sang along and, of course, boo-ed Captain Hook when he’s been evil.

“Without them we wouldn’t be able to put on such a great show and enjoy the experience so much.”
