Sheffield songstress Lucy Spraggan is the first big name to be revealed on the line-up of a popular city music festival.
The Stannington songwriter, who shot to fame on The X Factor and launched her debut album last year, will perform at the Mosborough Music Festival at the old Westfield School site on June 7.
Early bird tickets, at a reduced cost of £15, are now on sale as a thank you to revellers who have attended in the past.
A headline act will be announced after those ticket sales end on February 15.
Steve Cowens, festival organiser for four years, said: “I tried last year to get Lucy to perform at the festival and we became very close so I thought I would give it another go.
“We are made up to have her on board, and the line-up is looking fantastic.”
Other acts scheduled to appear include bands The Sherlocks, Sour Cherry, Sabella, Missing Andy, Jungle Lion, Marquis Drive and Polkadodge.
Organisers plan to reveal acts month-by-month in The Star.
The festival will return to a one-day event this year after it took place over a full weekend in 2013.
Festival organisers are also searching for new sponsorship this year to help run the event, which will boost St Luke’s Hospice.
Steve added: “With sponsorship from our main sponsor uncertain, we are looking for a company to help. We also have places for smaller sponsorship deals from £50.
“All proceeds from sales and adverts will go to St Luke’s so I hope as many firms as possible can support our festival.”
