The weather forecast is predicting snow this weekend as temperatures drop. Make sure to bundle up and venture outside as there are plenty of exciting events going on this weekend. Here are our top picks.

Artspace Open Studios

About 150 artists will open their studios, allowing members of the public to get a behind-the-scenes look at the local creative scene. Work from ceramicists, jewellers, designers, painters and more will be on sale. Check the schedule for workshops and events.

Dark & Lovely-

The Crucible,


Artist and performer Selina Thompson created the Tumbleweave, a construction built from abandoned weaves and extensions. She uses different mediums to explore the politics of Black hair.

Transgender Day of Remembrance

November 20, 5:15- late

The Transgender Day of Remembrance will honour those who have lost their lives due to transphobia with a candlit vigil at Millennium Square. A screening of a documentary about trans people in South Yorkshire will take place at the Odeon, with an after party at the Viper Rooms to follow.

Christmas Lights Switch On

There are three different chances to catch the city lighting up for Christmas, with the ‘man with the pram’ John Burkhill and the girl band Stooshe as special guests. Fairground rides, children’s characters, Santa’s grotto and carol singing will take place in various locations in the city centre.

Ladies’ Night

To grow the female skater scene in Sheffield, indoor skate park The House will be hosting a Ladies’ Night. Women of all ages and abilities are welcome to skate in a welcoming environment.

Winter Group Show

B & B Gallery, S1 4RT


This exhibition, which opened last week, showcases unseen prints and original artwork from a group of nine artists, including Malarko and local talents Kid Acne and Sarah Abbott.

Christmas Fayre

November 21-22, 10am-3pm

Whirlow Hall Farm, S11 9QF

£4 adults, FREE for children

The Christmas Fayre will be selling mince pies, mulled wine, and a hog roast to celebrate the holiday season. More than 100 craft and market stalls will be on site, with Santa available for the kids.

Disney on Ice: Worlds of Enchantment
