A CELEBRATED novelist is set to speak at a newly-completed library space.

Author Stephen May, who has been shortlisted for the Costa Book Award for new book Life! Death! Prizes!, will be at Rotherham’s Central Library at Riverside on Thursday January 17.

The playwright and TV writer will discuss his work with members of the public from 6.30pm. He is the second author to visit the newly-opened space and managers hope to host similar events on a regular basis in the future.

Julie Hird, Rotherham Council’s manager for integrated cultural services said: “It’s great to be able to welcome another author to our new Riverside library.

“Stephen’s talk will focus on his writing and his new book and will link in nicely with the current art exhibition on show in the gallery which is all about family themes.”
