RILEYS Pool and Snooker Club in Sheffield will host a fundraising weekend for St Luke’s Hospice this Saturday and Sunday.

The event at the Mansfield Road venue will include speed pool competitions and sports quizzes, a raffle, and the chance to win prizes. The event starts at noon on Saturday. Call 0114 254 5161.

Drivers’ risky habit

YOUNG motorists in Sheffield are putting themselves at risk by failing to take their cars in for annual services because they can’t afford the cost or the concept is alien to them, a new survey claims. Over a third questioned rely instead on their cars passing MOTs.

TIME is running out for green-fingered children to enter a sunflower growing competition at Hardwick Hall near Chesterfield. The deadline is Friday, August 17, for entries in the ‘tallest sunflower’ and ‘most imaginative pot’ categories.
