The Octagon Centre will be turned into a planetarium on September 18 for Sounds of the Cosmos, with Holst’s The Planets suite accompanied by images of the universe on all four sides of the building.

Sheffield Rep Orchestra will play the concert in the round creating a 360 degree surround sound experience.

Other highlights include Tibetan monks from Tashi Lhunpo monastery offering unique sacred dances, music and prayers with traditional costumes and ceremonial masks on Tuesday October 14.

And on October 21 an event examines resistance and song in the context of the American Civil Rights movement.
