KEEN singer and Lord Mayor of Sheffield Coun Sylvia Dunkley saw the impact music can have when she was a guest of South Yorkshire dementia charity Lost Chord.

Coun Dunkley, a member of Sheffield’s Escafeld Chorale, attended a session at the Laurels and Limes residential home, Crosspool, seeing how the charity’s musicians help people living with dementia.

Helena Muller, of Lost Chord, said: “She danced with resident Stephen Brooks, a keen dancer in the past, and it was wonderful to see how the music inspired him to join in again.”
