SHEFFIELD’S ice dancing king is putting Britain’s fitness queen through her paces for the new series of a top talent show.
Skating coach Mark Hanretty will be hoping for success after being partnered with diet expert Rosemary Conley for Dancing On Ice.
Mark is a professional ice skating coach, based at iceSheffield, Coleridge Road, Attercliffe, Sheffield.
He said he and Rosemary have been working hard with legendary Olympic gold medal winners Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean on their opening routine, as well as training together at iceSheffield.
Mark said: “I’m looking forward to the live show. Training has been going well. Rosemary is such a committed contestant and a lovely lady. We have a lot of fun.
“We hope everyone in Sheffield will get behind us.”
The show will see 16 skaters compete for the Ice Champion trophy.
Other celebrities taking part include Barnsley-born pop star turned TV presenter Sam Nixon, as well as Sugababe Heidi Range and actress Jennifer Ellison.
n Star Chico has been forced to pull out of some of the final performances of Rotherham’s current pantomime run after a late call-up to Dancing on Ice.
The former X factor favourite is swapping the Rotherham Civic Theatre for the ice rink, after a contestant was hurt rehearsing.
The ITV1 series starts on Sunday at 6.30pm and Chico is needed for rehearsals tomorrow, meaning he has been forced to pull out of today’s, tomorrow’s and Sunday’s performances of Jack and the Beanstalk, which is scheduled to run until Sunday.
However, he will be taking to the stage in all three shows on Saturday.
Understudy Matt Edmunds is to fill in when Chico is away.
