Library hosting feast of folk

MUSIC fans can enjoy a bargain day out when Chesterfield Library hosts its Home Grown Folk event - which costs £3 admission and features five acts.

The event is part of the town’s Community Arts Festival on Friday, May 3, and real ale will also be on sale, from Brampton Brewery.

The line-up contains local teenager Abbie Rechert, who won the newcomer award at last year’s Stainsby Folk Festival.

The following day, on Saturday, May 4, the libary will host a workshop on the origins of the dulcimer and autosharp from 10.30am, a concert by Chesterfield Philharmonic Choir from 11.45am, before the Brampton Community Band bring down the curtain on a musical 24 hours from 1pm.
