JACK Dyson’s a real card!

For the 11-year-old is Britain’s official card game Top Trump-er after a cut-throat contest against 71 other finalists.

The Marlcliffe Primary pupil triumphed in a contest which initially attracted 100,000 entrants from schools throughout the country.

Jack, of Grove Avenue, Hillsborough, lifted the trophy at a tickertape presentation. He was also presented with a £1,000 cheque for his school.

His class will now be taken on a VIP trip to the Science Museum, the London venue for the final.

“I am still shocked, I didn’t think I would have a chance of winning at all, but it’s fantastic!” he said.

“And I’d like to thank Miss Wood, my teacher who started the tournament.”

Mum Jayne said Jack had never played the game before it was introduced as a lunchtime pastime at school: “We had a brilliant day and for Jack to win was incredible.”
