PICTURES of well-known Sheffield buildings are going under the hammer to raise charity cash.

The auction and exhibition is happening in the Winter Garden from tomorrow to Saturday in aid of the British Red Cross, and features paintings of popular locations such as The Ranmoor Inn, Park Hill flats and Kelham Island pub The Fat Cat.

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the British Red Cross, and potential bidders can talk to the artists about their work from midday to 7pm on the final day.

Mark H Wilson, who painted the picture of The Ranmoor Inn, said: “I was only too glad to contribute because of all the great work the Red Cross does around the world.”

Event organiser Marcia Vera added: “We’re very grateful to all the artists who have donated their works – there is a wide variety of work on offer, so there is sure to be a canvas for everyone.”

Bids close at 5pm on Saturday and can be placed in person during the event or online at
