High wire thrills and spills as circus performance opens

FINAL preparations are taking place for a big show at Sheffield’s Greentop Circus.

Performances are taking place tonight and tomorrow at the circus, on Holywell Street, Grimesthorpe.

There will be trapeze, tight-wire, acrobalance, comedy, live music and a series of short tales will also be told on the subject of love and hate, including jilted brides and spurned lovers.

Gerry Flanagan, creative director, said: “The show will give the students an opportunity to play with all the things that they are passionate about - positive and negative.

“For the audience the show will be a totally unique experience and promises to give them something they’ve never seen before.”

He added: “The show is extremely popular and looks set to sell out so we recommend buying your tickets in advance.”

The last few tickets are available for both performances, which start at 7.30pm on each evening.

To book tickets, visit the website at www.greentop.org or call 0114 244 8828 before 7pm this evening.
