Award-winning Barnsley choreographer Gary Clarke is coming home with a major new piece of work.
But as the March 8 performance at Barnsley Civic Theatre approaches, there’s just one problem… even Gary doesn’t know what’s going to happen.
The internationally acclaimed Grimethorpe born dancer and choreographer’s Lustrum project brings together 15 dance artists to devise, create and showcase five dance works in only five days.
Only when the curtain goes up at the Civic Theatre will anybody know exactly what the result of the week has been. And in a new feature developed specially for the Barnsley event, the ensemble will spill off the stage to dance through the Civic building in a unique promenade.
Now the search is on to find the 15 dance artists – at least seven of whom have to be Yorkshire based - and five Yorkshire musicians who will bring the project alive for its South Yorkshire debut.
The participants, all of whom must have professional performance experience, must be available for the week of March 3 to 8. Visit http://bit.ly/1iXWyks by noon on February 3.
