FRENCH graffiti artist Florence ‘Ema’ Blanchard is holding her first public exhibition in Sheffield - after having worked on a mural at top trainer Brendan Ingle’s boxing gym in Wincobank.

Florence’s exhibition, New Brigantia, is on from June 16 to July 14 at artist Pete McKee’s gallery, a Month of Sundays, Sharrow Vale Road.

The exhibition is inspired by the Brigantes who had a major impact on Wincobank and managed to keep the Romans off Wincobank Hill for nearly 20 years.

Rather than providing historical accuracy, her work gives ‘shape and form to a fantastical universe where supernatural forces entangle to create chaos and order’.

Mr McKee said: “It’s fantastic my gallery has got the opportunity to show one of the rising stars of the international art scene.”
