Energetic year ahead for gym

Have your say

Members of Bawtry Health and Fitness Studios have some big events to prepare for next year.

Luke Walker, owner of the Church Walk gym, has organised a series of Bawtry Olympic Challenge physical tests to mark London 2012.

It is hoped as many gym members as possible will take part to raise money for well-known charities.

The year kicks off in April with the six-mile Rossington Gallop Trail Run with money going to The Yorkshire Kidney Research Fund. The 5km Swimathon at Maltby Leisure Centre in April will support Marie Curie Cancer Care, while the 19km Bikeathon in Clumber Park during May will benefit Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

The 5km Yorkshire Spartan Obstacle Race in August is in aid of Help for Heroes. The series is rounded off in September with the annual British Heart Foundation five-mile walk around Bawtry Forest.
