IT WILL be access all areas for visitors to Sheffield City Hall next month when the public are invited to explore.
Between 10am and 5pm on Sunday, September 11, the City Hall will open its doors for guided tours as part of English Heritage Open Days.
The main City Hall foyer will be transformed into an exhibition space and tea-room, and visitors can find out little known facts about the building while seeing the Grand Ballroom and backstage in the Oval Hall.
Next year, there will be a special programme of events to mark City Hall’s 80th anniversary. Over the coming year, City Hall bosses are hoping to collect as many stories about people’s experiences of the building as possible - from falling in love at a tea dance to meeting a musical hero or even performing on the stage.
Memories can be submitted on the Sheffield City Hall website or in person. To book a place on an open day free guided tour call 0114 223 3700.
