AMATEUR sport in the borough has received a boost with the donation of £630 to the Doncaster Boccia Club, awarded as part of the nationwide Cash 4 Clubs scheme.

The club, which promotes the target ball sport for athletes with disabilities which have a major impact on motor skills, plays at Doncaster College.

Samantha O’Brien, committee member at Doncaster Boccia Club, said: “This grant from Cash 4 Clubs will mean we can purchase three new sets of boccia balls.

“The donation is the kick start our new club needs and it will allow us to encourage further participation. It will be great to see more members of the college actively involved in sport.”
