THEY say theatre folk can be a bit fruity - well, meet a troupe hoping to be a bit vegetable-y too - its members are staging a show amid the shallots, spring onions and sweetcorn of a Sheffield allotment.
Mikron Theatre Company will perform among the potatoes as part of a nationwide tour of green spaces.
Taru Sinclair, spokeswoman with the Huddersfield outfit, said: “This company is about staging shows in unusual places and making theatre come alive.
“We’re very much behind the grow-your-own culture sweeping the country and this is a way of supporting that.”
The show, called Losing The Plot, will see a cast of four offer music, humour and gardening tips at Grimesthorpe Allotments, Grimesthorpe Road, tomorrow, at 7pm.
Viewing is free, but there is be a recommended donation of £8. Take your own deckchair along.
