ONE city, many cultures, is the theme for a free community day being held tomorrow at the Sheffield and District African Caribbean Community Association on The Wicker.
Now in its sixth year, the event aims to bring together all cultural communities in Sheffield, and will be officially opened by Lord Mayor Sylvia Dunkley.
Music and dance, food tasting, arts and crafts displays, poetry and storytelling will all be on offer as well as children’s activities including a crèche and a bouncy castle.
The event will run from 11am to 6pm.
Community initiatives officer Barrington Brown said: “We hope as many members of the community attend as possible, have fun and even learn something about their neighbours and the community they live in.”
Milton Samuals, chair of the SADACCA management committee, added: “SADACCA is proud to host the Community Cultural Day for the sixth year, as this event promotes a greater respect and cohesion between communities within the city, through shared understanding of our different cultures.
“We welcome all communities to this event.”
