PUT old books to good use instead of them cluttering up your shelves.
Sheffield Libraries is launching a new initiative called Give and Take, encouraging people to donate their old books, CDs and talking books.
Coun Mick Rooney, Sheffield Council cabinet member for communities, said: “Donated books will either be added to the libraries’ collections or offered for sale. Both options will ensure books can be enjoyed again by lots more readers.”
Frecheville, Firth Park and Sheffield Central libraries will be the first to offer donated books for sale from 50p. The scheme will be rolled out across all libraries over the coming months.
Any money raised will be used to buy new library books.
