AN EASTER bonnet competition is being held alongside Sheffield City Hall’s historic annual Easter Dance.
Dancers and staff are encouraged to get creative with ribbons, flowers and fluffy chicks to produce colourful hats.
The dance takes place in the Grand Ballroom on Saturday, March 30, between 3pm and 6pm.
Hats can be all shapes, sizes and colours, bought or handmade.
Organisers say the competition is for fun, but there will be prizes up for grabs.
Easter Dances have taken place at City Hall throughout the building’s 80-year history.
There will be some themed dancing and surprises in store for this year’s occasion.
Kevin Bird, among the City Hall staff working to put on the dance, said: “It’s lovely to see Easter Bonnet competitions are still popular. The hats we have seen already look fabulous and we want as many people as possible to get involved.”
Tickets are £5 for entry including a drink on arrival, or £16.50 for two with entry, afternoon tea and a drink on arrival, available from City Hall box office on 0114 2789789.
