South Yorkshire-born actor Brian Blessed is to deliver the keynote speech at the Yorkshire Law Banquet at the Cutlers Hall on February 7.
Organised by the Sheffield and District Law Society, the event will bring together more than 350 members of South Yorkshire’s legal profession and representatives from the business community and other VIPs.
Since 1876 the banquet has celebrated the achievements of the profession and is one of the highlights of the year for society members.
During the event, Brian will talk about his glittering acting career which has spanned five decades as well as his charitable and other interests, including his attempts to conquer Mount Everest.
Society president Gile Searby said: “The banquet is one of the most important events organised by the Sheffield and District Law Society and it’s a terrific honour for us to welcome Brian to speak at this year’s event. The evening promises to be an unforgettable event for all attending.
“This year we will also commemorate those members of South Yorkshire’s legal profession who fought during the First World War.”
