A SPECIAL offer has been launched to mark the Crucible Theatre’s 40th anniversary - with 40 tickets available for just 40p for each Friday performance during a production run at the Sheffield city centre venue.
The promotion, called First Time Fridays, is being funded with sponsorship from East Midlands Trains to tempt newcomers.
Adult tickets for Friday performances usually cost £20.
Dan Bates, Sheffield Theatres chief executive, said: “We are excited to be working with East Midlands Trains on what is proving to be a successful scheme.”
New theatre bookers can currently buy up to two 40p tickets for a Friday performance of Harold Pinter’s play, Betrayal, staring John Simm.
■ The production is at the Crucible Theatre from Thursday to Saturday, June 9. East Midlands Trains First Time Fridays tickets can be purchased from Sheffield Theatres’ box office in-person or by calling 0114 249 6000.
