AN AUTHOR’S tales of his childhood helped brighten the lives of youngsters in a hospice.

Steve Bush, from Parson Cross, Sheffield, pledged all royalties from his local book, Gee-or Ruwerin, to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston and turned up to present the first £200.

Steve said: “The book has been great fun to write and a joy to revisit experiences with childhood friends, but to be able to donate cash to such a good cause is fabulous.

“I’m hoping to make regular donations if sales continue.”
