A Sheffield artist, whose work explores themes of architecture, urban landscape and British kitsch, has opened a new exhibition at a city gallery.

Painter and printmaker Jonathan Wilkinson, already well known for his ‘We Live Here’ prints of Park Hill and city landmarks in Sheffield and beyond, will show his new solo works for the next three weeks at the B&B Gallery, 95b Mary St, Sheffield.

The exhibition, ‘New Paintings… and Then Some’, is open on Saturdays from noon to 6pm, or by appointment on weekdays.

“I’ve spent over a year working towards this new solo show and I’m delighted to finally share it with Sheffield,” said Jonathan, a Sheffield Hallam University fine art graduate who is married with a young son.

“Although I’m mostly known for familiar buildings and places in Sheffield, these new paintings take you on a trip to a British seaside resort, via a suburban street in a northern town, finally arriving at the gates of hidden-away Sheffield by night.”

All Jonathan’s new and original paintings, prints, and a limited edition fanzine celebrating Sheffield streetlife, will be available to buy from the gallery during the exhibition’s run, until October 5.
