Young people in Rotherham have been busy creating artwork to feature in an upcoming festival.
They have been making moving puppets and sculptures ready for the Street Arts Festival and ‘Fringe Ferretstival’ on Saturday, August 31.
Lizzy Alageswaran, spokeswoman from Rotherham Council’s arts and regeneration department, said: “Response to the project has been really good and shown that people in Rotherham have a sense of fun and are keen to join in.”
The project is inspired by artist Johnny White, who is famous for his moving sculptures made of cutlery which were showcased in the Millennium Gallery in Sheffield.
There is still a chance for budding artists to make puppets and sculptures to be featured in the festival.
Two free workshops are being held next Tuesday and Wednesday, August 27 and 28, in the Old Market Gallery, Corporation Street, Rotherham.
