Perhaps Sheffield doesn’t have the X Factor after all.
A mobile audition van for the hit ITV show rolled up to Meadowhall today - but there was a distinct lack of budding singing sensations to welcome it.
There was no buzzing queue of superstar hopefuls in sight at the shopping mall as X Factor representatives waited for a chance to uncover the nation’s next massive singing star.
An X Factor spokesman said the turnout had been ‘reasonable’, but was unable to give an accurate figure before the auditions end at 9pm.
She added: “Numbers vary from location to location but overall we’ve had a strong turnout across the cities so far and we’ve had tens of thousands of people applying for the show this year.”
