Angela Smith MP met up with the Kennel Club and the Micro-chipping Alliance to promote the benefits of compulsory micro-chipping and the importance of keeping database details updated as part of National Micro-chipping Month.
The aim of the month, during June, was to encourage responsible pet ownership through the promotion of micro-chipping as an inexpensive, quick and painless method of permanent pet identification.
Angela, MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge, said: “This is an issue high on the political agenda. A large part of being a responsible pet owner is to ensure your pets are microchipped and registered to a database. I firmly support proposals for implementation of compulsory micro-chipping.”
